What is Barium Acetate used for?

Barium Acetate has applications in a wide range of industries.
In chemistry, Barium Acetate is used in the preparation of other acetates; and as a catalyst in organic synthesis. It is used for the preparation of other barium compounds, such as barium oxide, barium sulphate, and barium carbonate.
Barium acetate is used as a mordant for printing textile fabrics, for drying paints and varnishes and in lubricating oil. It helps dyes fix to fabric and improve their colourfastness.
Certain types of glass, such as optical glass, use barium acetate as an ingredient as it helps increase the refractive index and improve the clarity of the glass.
In several types of pyrotechnic compositions, barium acetate is a fuel that produces a bright green colour when burned.
Barium acetate is sometimes used in water treatment to remove certain types of impurities, such as sulphate ions, from drinking water.

Barium Salt Compounds Aluminum Oxide Nanoparticles/Nanopowder 1344-28-1
Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3) is a white or nearly colourless crystalline substance, and a chemical compound of aluminum and oxygen. It is made from bauxite and commonly called alumina and may also be called aloxide, aloxite, or alundum depending on particular forms or applications. Al2O3 is significant in its use to produce aluminum metal, as an abrasive owing to its hardness, and as a refractory material owing to its high melting point.

Barium Salt Compounds Barium Hydroxide (BaOH2) 17194-00-2
Barium hydroxide, a chemical compound with the chemical formula Ba(OH)2, is white solid substance, soluble in water, the solution is called barite water, strong alkaline. Barium Hydroxide has another name, namely: caustic barite, barium hydrate. The monohydrate (x = 1), known as baryta or baryta-water, is one of the principal compounds of barium. This white granular monohydrate is the usual commercial form. Barium Hydroxide Octahydrate, as a highly water insoluble crystalline Barium source, is an inorganic chemical compound that is one of the most dangerous chemicals used in the laboratory. Ba(OH)2.8H2O is a colorless crystal at room temperature. It has a density of 2.18g / cm3, water soluble and acid, toxic, can cause damage to the nervous system and digestive system. Ba(OH)2.8H2O is corrosive, may cause burns to eye and skin. It may cause digestive tract irratation if swallowed. Example Reactions: • Ba(OH)2.8H2O + 2NH4SCN = Ba(SCN)2 + 10H2O + 2NH3

Barium Salt Compounds Boron Carbide(B4C) Powder 12069-32-8
Boron Carbide (B4C), also known as black diamond, with a Vickers hardness of >30 GPa, is the third hardest material after diamond and cubic boron nitride. Boron carbide has high cross section for absorption of neutrons (i.e. good shielding properties against neutrons), stability to ionizing radiation and most chemicals. It is a suitable material for many high performance applications due to its attractive combination of properties. Its outstanding hardness makes it a suitable abrasive powder for lapping, polishing and water jet cutting of metals and ceramics. Boron Carbide is an essential material with lightweight and great mechanical strength. UrbanMines’ products have high purity and competitive prices. We also has much experience in supplying a range of B4C products. Hope we can offer helpful advice and give you a better understanding of boron carbide and its various uses.
